FRIEND
Finding a friend is a treasure in life. In looking for a friend, you find a piece of yourself, because friends are like stars: sometimes you don't see them, but you know they are always there. And now that we are friends, I can tell you how my perfumes were born and tell you what my eyes saw, because now I'm sure you will understand me. In your adventure, we discovered together how some things happen not by chance, but because we are destined to encounter souls in our lives capable of making us understand parts of ourselves. We never know what our destiny holds for us, and it is essential to listen so as not to miss opportunities. In the first question I asked you there was:
What is the phrase that is visible, but invisible to the eyes of many, that you found inside the boxes?
You have found the magic phrase "he who sees does not hear".
It happens to everyone that we get distracted. Often, we do not have an open heart to listen and we miss many opportunities to understand much more about ourselves. We learned together how much patience is necessary in certain moments. The frenzy and desire to arrive often makes us neglect the art of listening, and this can make us miss many opportunities for growth. Patience and a willingness to contemplate are essential to fully understand the world around us and the people we meet along the way.
The ancients called the sycamore the Tree of Patience, which produces hard, spherical seeds used for rosary crowns.
The etymology of this tree comes from the Greek sykómoros, composed of two words together: sŷkon, meaning 'fig', and móron, meaning 'blackberry'. The fig was considered the tree of thinkers and philosophers, a symbol of patience and reflection. In classical Greece, figs were considered "fruits worthy of nourishing orators and philosophers" and Plato was nicknamed the fig eater, as he consumed them in large quantities and recommended them to students to reinvigorate the body. While stammering children were taken under a fig tree to untie the knots of speech. While mora, from Greek, means to linger. The bramble and its fruits in Roman mythology were sacred to Saturn and have always been loved by poets. Just like when we delay picking blackberries, because they are a fruit surrounded by thorns and protected and guarded by stinging prickles. We must therefore pay attention to how we move if we want to harvest that delicious fruit. The thorns represent protection. A way to jealously guard a secret.
The notes of blackberry and "Mora" can be found in my creations which I have called Primitivo and Gula, while the fig notes can be found in my creations. in Akedia and Gula.
I will let you participate in my creative processes, in which I tried to recreate ancient perfumes, in which the esoteric knowledge of these plants represented not just a perfume, but a truly profound concept, a tribute to the commitment of our ancestors. Each fragrance is based on these research principles. Now you know why I cannot consider them my creations, but they represent ancient teachings that have been transmitted and handed down for centuries, based on the study of nature and philosophy, in the search for the etymological and symbolic roots of the ingredients. My perfumes represent a profound connection between the art of perfumery and the history of humanity, a bridge between past and present. My commitment was to create fragrances that could not only delight the senses, but also convey profound meanings and knowledge."
Looking carefully at this ancient image of patience we find many symbols. An angel guarding a lamb, while a demon standing to the side watches the scene in amazement. The demon's hands are joined and it is not clear whether he is praying or contemplating the scene. Now I ask you to look carefully at the demon in which sagging breasts are seen. So in light of this representation I ask you who is the cool guy and who is the brunette? Who encircles the lamb with his loving coils? Which of the two plants produces milk?
The blackberry keeps the secret, while the fig tree gazes adoringly at nature. From this we can deduce a concept:
The wings and arms represent thorns, what else are the wounds that protect the fruit, while demons are philosophers who contemplate the secrets of life.
“ To you who enter into this temple,
love your demons”
Now you know who the demons are to me.
A demon from ancient Greek δαίμων, dáimōn, "divine being" is a being that is halfway between what is divine and what is human. In Greek philosophy, has the function of intermediary between man and spitito.
«I will invoke the sacred splendor of the celestial stars with voices compliant with the rite, calling the demons holy.»
(Orphic hymns, Scent of asters-aromas 1-2)
In Hesiod, they assume the beings of the first golden generation, aurea aetas, the golden age:
«Then, after the earth had covered this race,
they are, by will of the great Zeus, demons
propitious, who are on earth, guardians of mortals,
and observing the sentences of justice and wicked deeds,
dressed in misty air, everywhere prowling the earth,
dispensers of wealth: they possess this royal privilege"
(Hesiod, The works and the days)
